Angel Cookies
One small jar of maraschino cherries
1/2 cup margarine
1/2 cup shortening
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
2 cups flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1/2 cup coconutRecipe
Cream margarine, shortening and brown sugar in mixer until fluffy.
Mix in egg and vanilla, then stir in flour, baking soda, salt and cream of tartar. then add coconut and stir.
roll dough into walnut size balls.
Dip top of each ball into cherry juice and then some sugar on a paper plate, and place sugar/juice side right side up on an ungreased baking sheet. Place a half of cherry on top of center of each ball. Press down.
Bake 10-12 muntes at 350 deg. (do not overbake)
