CountryFried Steak w/ Biscuits and Gravy

List of Ingredients
1-1/2 cups + 2 T. flour
1/2 tsp. freshly ground black pepper
8-4 oz. tenderized beef round steak (cubed steaks)
1 tsp. House Seasoning, recipe follows
1 tsp. seasoning salt
2 cups buttermilk
2/3 cup vegetable oil
1-1/2 tsp. salt
1 quart whole milk
1/2 tsp. Ac'cent, opt.
1 bunch green onions, or 1 medium yellow onion, sliced Recipe
Steak and Gravy: Combine 1-1/2 cups flour and 1/4 tsp. pepper in small bowl.Sprinkle 1 side of meat with House Seasoning and other side with seasoning salt, and dredge in buttermilk, then flour.Heat 1/2 cup oil in heavy skillet on medium-high heat.Add 2-4 steaks to hot oil; fry until browned, about 5-6 minutes per side.Remove to paper towel-lined plate to drain.Repeat with remaining steaks, adding up to 1/4 cup more oil, as needed.
House Seasoning from Paula Deen
1 cup salt
1/4 cup black pepper
1/4 cup garlic powder
Mix ingredients together.Store in airtight container up to 6 months.
Yield: 4 servings steak and gravy; 3 dozen biscuits
Steps for Gravy:
Add 2 T. remaining flour to pan drippings, scraping bottom with wooden spoon.Stir in remaining 1/4 tsp. pepper, and salt.Reduce heat to medium and cook, stirring frequently, until flour is medium brown and mixture is bubbly.Slowly add whole milk and Ac'cent (if using), stirring constantly.Return steaks to skillet and bring to boil over medium-high heat.Reduce heat to low; place onions on top of steaks.Cover pan; let simmer 30 minutes.
