    1 C sugar
    1/2 C shortning
    1 C thick applesauce
    1 egg
    1 tsp. cinnimon
    1/2 tsp nutmeg
    1/4 tsp cloves
    1/4 tsp alspice
    1/2 tsp salt
    1 1/2 C flour
    4 tsp baking powder
    1/2 C nuts

    Recipe



    Cream sugar and shortning. Add applesauce, egg and sift in flour and spices, salt and baking powder together. Add to the wet mixture. Finally ad remaining ingredients and nuts. Bake in a moderate oven (375) for about 30 min.
