    Fried Cabbage for the Huluskhka

    Source of Recipe

    Becky Horton

    Recipe Introduction

I've tried a million ways to make this recipe "low fat"... some things just CANNOT be messed with!

    List of Ingredients

1 medium head of cabbage, washed and finely grated (or chopped if you like it in thicker slices)
1 stick of butter or margarine (butter is always better of course)
    salt and pepper to taste

    Recipe

Fry the grated cabbage in the melted butter in a large pan. It will look like a ton of cabbage at first, but as it cooks it will melt down. Make sure you actually brown the cabbage good and not just saute it. The browned flavor is what makes it sweet. Now mom says grandma would roll over in her grave if she knew that sometimes I put pieces of Kelbassa in it too.. (but i do) and it's very yummy or even some left over picnic ham is very good. Just do not add any more salt because the ham and sausage is salty enough. And dont forget plenty of freshly ground pepper.
