Buttermilk doughnuts

Grandma would fry these up and we'd eat them rolled in sugar while they were warm.
List of Ingredients
2 eggs
1 C sugar
1/2 C shortning
1 C butter milk
4 C flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
1 tsp soda
1/2 tsp nutmeg

Beat the 2 eggs and 1 C sugar till creamed. Add 1/4 C shortning melted and 1 C buttermilk. Sift 4 C of flour, and remaining ingrediants. Mix completely and let rest ona a board for approximately 30 min. Roll out dough and cut with a doughnut cutter. Fry until golden brown.
