Salata (Lettuce with Sour Cream)

Grandma used to make this salad with fresh greens from her garden.
List of Ingredients
1 head of lettuce
4 strips bacon
1/2 C vinegar
1/2 C water
1 tsp. salt
1/8 pepper or paprika
1/2 C sour creamRecipe
Cut lettuce into 6 sections. Cut the bacon into squares and fry until crisp, remove to absorbant paper. Pour off the bacon fat, retaining about 1 Tbsp in the skillet. Add the vinegar, water, salt and pepper and bring to a boil. Pour over lettuce and drain immediately. Arrange lettuce on a platter or in individual salad plates. top with sour cream and garnish with bacon cracklings.
