Beef Chow Mein

Recipe Introduction
From Grandma Minnie's cookbook. Chow Mein in the midwest was never what you would have in Asia - it was it's own invention and just called chowmein.
List of Ingredients
- 1 lb ground round cubed into small pieces.
- 2 cups of diced celery
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 Tbsp corn starch
- 2 cups beef stock
- 1/2 cups diced onions
- 2 cups (canned) bean sprouts
- Cooking oil
- Chow mein noodles
Instructions
- Brown the beef in the oil for 5 minutes or until browned and cooked.
- Add the beef stock.
- Simmer for 10 minutes on medium heat.
- Moisten the corn starch in a seperate dish with just a little water to make a paste.
- Add all the salt, celery, onions and bean sprouts.
- Add the corn starch mixture and stir to heat all items.
- Serve over chow mein noodles.
