The Blind Dog's Bread Pudding. Is it as good as the Bon Ton Bread Pudding? You be the judge.
List of Ingredients
- 1 Tbsp Butter
- 1 loaf pound cake (cubed)
- 1 loaf brioche (cubed)
- 4 cups heavy cream
- 4 eggs
- 4 egg yolks
- 1 vanilla bean
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400.
- Beat the eggs, yolks, and add cream.
- Split the vanilla bean and scrape out vanilla seeds. Add to cream mixture.
- Stir in both types of sugar. Reserve a Tbsp of each for the top.
- Stir in brioche and pound cake. Allow the bread and pound cake to sit in the cream mixture until completely absorbed.
- Butter the insdie of a baking dish
- Add the pudding mixture
- Sprinkle sugar on top
- Set in a water bath of boiling water
- cook for 45 minutes
Final Comments
If it seems to be getting too brown in the oven, cover it with foil
