Recipe Introduction
The Bon Ton Cafe makes one of the BEST Bread Puddings ANYWHERE!!!!
List of Ingredients
- PUDDING:
- 1 loaf of French Bread
- 1 qt Milk
- 3 eggs
- 2 cups Sugar
- 2 Tbsp Vanilla
- 3 Tbsp butter or magarine
- 1 Cup Raisins
- SAUCE:
- 1 Stick Margarine or Butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- Whiskey
Instructions
- PUDDING FIRST!
- Soak the bread in the milk with hands mix well.
- Add the eggs, sugar, vanilla and raisins - STIR WELL.
- Pour margarine in bottom of a thick pan and bake until firm.
- Allow to cool.
- Then cube and put into individual dessert dishes.
- NOW THE SAUCE!
- Cream the sugar and egg until well mixed.
- Add melted margarine and continue to dissolve.
- Add the whiskey to taste
- Sauce should be creamy and smooth
- Add the sauce to the pudding in dessert dishes. Heat under the broiler and serve.

I know this recipe is not exact - Temp, time and all that good stuff - but this is how the Bon Ton gave it!!!
