This recipe is wonderful when all the fresh blackberries are ready all over Sonoma
List of Ingredients
- 3 cup fresh blackberries
- 2 tbsp balsamic vinegar
- 10 tbsp sugar
- 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) cold unsalted butter cut up.
- pinch of salt
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400
- in a bowl toss together the berries with the balsamic vinegar and 4 tbsp sugar. Let stand 30 minutes.
- In a food processor pulse together remaining 6 tbsp sugar, flour, butter and salt until the mixture resembles fine bread crumbs. DO NOT OVERWORK mixture or it will turn into pastry!
- Divide the berry mixture among four 8 oz ovenproof dishes or ramekins.
- Sprinkle crumble mixture over the berries.
- Shake dishes slightly to allow the ingredients to settle.
- Bake until the top is golden - about 30 minutes.
Final Comments
You may use other berries. A favorite is MIXED berries!!! Try blueberries, raspberries and blackberries all at the same time!!!
