Cajun
List of Ingredients
- 1 lb raw peeled and cleaned shrimp (fresh best - frozen will work)
- 1/4 cup flour
- 1/3 cup oil
- 1 cup hot water
- 1 (8oz) can tomato sauce
- 1/2 cup chopped green onions and tops
- 1/2 cup chopped parsley
- 1/4 cup chopped green pepper
- 1 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp crushed whole thyme
- Dash of cayenne pepper
- 2 whole bay leaved
- 1 lemon slice
- 2 cups rice
Instructions
- Cut larger shrimp in half
- Blend flour into oil and brown stirring constantly.
- Add hot water gradually and cook until thick and smooth. Contiue to stir constantly.
- Cook the rice in seperate a pan according to directions.
- Add all the remaining ingredients to the flour and oil mix.
- Cover and simmer for 20 minutes.
- Remove bay leaves and serve over rice.
