    Recipe Introduction

Served at Christmas Eve for the in-laws who do not like lutfisk!

    List of Ingredients

    • 1 lb ground beef
    • 1 lb ground pork
    • 1 cup mashed potatoes
    • 1 small onion (grated)
    • 2 slices bread soaked in 1/2 cup water
    • salt and pepper
    • 1 egg
    • butter or oil for frying

    Instructions

    1. If possible have the butcher grind the meats together twice to make the meat fine. (Otherwise mix the meats together to make a fine well blended mix)
    2. Mash your potatoes as you normally would do. Slightly cool
    3. Now mix together the meat, potatoes, grated onion, soaked bread, 1 egg and salt and pepper to taste.
    4. Form into small balls
    5. Fry in butter or oil over med heat and turn often.
    6. Reduce the heat and simmer, covered. Cook 20 to 30 minutes.
    7. Add water if necessary.

    Final Comments

Serve with butter noodles. For more flavor fry a sliced onion along with the meatballs.
