Recipe Introduction
A Schnobrich Thanksgiving Favorite!
List of Ingredients
- 1 Head of Iceberg Lettuce
- 4 stalks of celery diced
- 1 Bermuda Onion
- 1 box of frozen peas cooked and cooled
- 1/2 cup Sugar
- 1/2 lb bacon
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1 cup Miracle Whip
Instructions
- Cook the frozen peas and let cool.
- Chop the iceberg lettuce and celery, slice the Bermuda onion into rings.
- Add the vegetables together with 1/2 cup sugar. Mix well, then wash and drain.
- Cover in a large salad bowl and let stand in the refrigerator overnight.
- The next day fry 1/2 lb bacon, crumble and allow to cool.
- Drain and squeeze out salad. Add the cool bacon.
- Add 1/2 cup sour cream and 1 cup miracle whip. TOSS WELL!
Final Comments
This is a salad that even gets better after a few days in the fridge - great for leftovers with a Thanksgiving turkey sandwich!
