    Slow Cooker Dutch Split Pea Soup

    Recipe Introduction


    Make early in the day as it takes 8 to 9 hrs!


    List of Ingredients


    • 1 tbsp olive oil
    • 1 large onion (chopped)
    • 2 cloves garlic, minced
    • 1 large potato, peeled and diced.
    • 2 carrots, peeled and cut into 1/4 inch coins.
    • 2 ribs celery cut into 1/4 in slices.
    • 2 cups green split peas (1lb) picked over and rinsed well.
    • 1/2 lb ham steak (cut into 1/2 in cubes).
    • 2 tsp dried marjoram
    • 1 tsp salt
    • 1/4 tsp ground black pepper
    • 6 cups boiling water


    Instructions


    1. Combine all the ingredients in teh Slow Cooker Stoneware Liner.
    2. Cover and set power to AUTO. Soup will be done in 8 to 9hrs (or cook on low for 9 to 10hrs)
    3. Befere serving adjust seasoning with salt and pepper.


    Final Comments


    A great use for left over ham!
