Slow Cooker Dutch Split Pea Soup

Recipe Introduction
Make early in the day as it takes 8 to 9 hrs!
List of Ingredients
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 large onion (chopped)
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 large potato, peeled and diced.
- 2 carrots, peeled and cut into 1/4 inch coins.
- 2 ribs celery cut into 1/4 in slices.
- 2 cups green split peas (1lb) picked over and rinsed well.
- 1/2 lb ham steak (cut into 1/2 in cubes).
- 2 tsp dried marjoram
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp ground black pepper
- 6 cups boiling water
Instructions
- Combine all the ingredients in teh Slow Cooker Stoneware Liner.
- Cover and set power to AUTO. Soup will be done in 8 to 9hrs (or cook on low for 9 to 10hrs)
- Befere serving adjust seasoning with salt and pepper.
Final Comments
A great use for left over ham!
