    List of Ingredients


    • 3 cups water
    • 1 1/2 tsp salt
    • 1 cup grits
    • 1 cup milk
    • 4 eggs slightly beaten
    • 1/4 lb butter
    • 1/2 cups grated cheddar cheese


    Instructions


    1. Add the salt to the water and bring to a boil.
    2. Sprinkle in the grits a few at a time while stirring.
    3. Cover and cook slowly, stirring occasionally, for 15 minutes to 1/2 hour, or until the grits are soft. If the mixture feels stiff add a touch more boiling water.
    4. Remove from heat and cool to lukewarm. Add remaining ingredients, except cheese, blending thoroughly.
    5. Pour into a greased casserole 9"X9" and bake at 350 degrees fro about 35 minutes.
    6. Srinkle grated cheese over the top and bake an additional 10 minutes until the cheese is melted and a nkfe inserted comes out clean.


    Final Comments


    Serves about 8 and is great with chicken.
