List of Ingredients
- 3 cups water
- 1 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup grits
- 1 cup milk
- 4 eggs slightly beaten
- 1/4 lb butter
- 1/2 cups grated cheddar cheese
Instructions
- Add the salt to the water and bring to a boil.
- Sprinkle in the grits a few at a time while stirring.
- Cover and cook slowly, stirring occasionally, for 15 minutes to 1/2 hour, or until the grits are soft. If the mixture feels stiff add a touch more boiling water.
- Remove from heat and cool to lukewarm. Add remaining ingredients, except cheese, blending thoroughly.
- Pour into a greased casserole 9"X9" and bake at 350 degrees fro about 35 minutes.
- Srinkle grated cheese over the top and bake an additional 10 minutes until the cheese is melted and a nkfe inserted comes out clean.
Final Comments
Serves about 8 and is great with chicken.
