Traditional Pumpkin Pie
List of Ingredients
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 3/4 tsp pumpkin pie spice
- 2 large eggs
- 1 can (15oz) pure pumpkin
- 1 can (12 fl oz) Carnation Evaporated Milk
- 1 unbaked (9 inch) deep dish pie shell
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 425
- Mix together the sugar, salt, pumpkin pie spice mix in a small bowl.
- Beat the eggs in a large bowl.
- Stir in pumpkin to the eggs.
- Stir in the sugar/spice mix to the eggs.
- Gradually stir in the evaporated milk, stiring and blending.
- Pour into the unbaked pie shell.
- Bake at 425 for 15 minutes.
- Reduce the temp to 350 and bake for 40 minutes longer or until a knife inserted near the center comes out clean.
- Cool on wire rack for at least 2 hours.
- Serve after two hours or refrigerate.
Final Comments
Serve with whipped cream topping or alone.
