I remember when grandma would serve these at Thanksgiving.
List of Ingredients
- 1 (16oz) package frozen small whole onions.
- 2 Tbsp Butter
- 2 Tbsp flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup milk
- 1/4 cup chopped pecans
Instructions
- Thaw and drain the onions
- Preheat the oven to 350
- Melt butter in a heavy sacuepan.
- Blend in flour and salt.
- Gradually stir in milk.
- Cook over medium heat stirrring constantly until the mixture comes to a boil. Boil and stir for one minute.
- Spoon onions into buttered 1 qt casserole and pour sacue over the onions.
- Bake for 20-30 minutes or until the center is bubbly.
- Sprinkle with toasted pecans just prior to serving.
