List of Ingredients
- 3 medium red onions, peeled and cut into paper thin slices.
- 3 medium yams (about 1 lb) cut into thin round slices.
- 2 cups apple cider
- 2 tsp brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp freshly ground pepper
- 1 tbsp fresh thyme leaves
- 1 tbsp butter (cut up)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350.
- In a 9 inch round dish, place the yams in onions in alternate layers.
- Pour in the apple cider, brown sugar and salt and pepper into a small sauce pan and stir over medium heat until the sugar dissolves.
- Pour over the onion and the yams and sprinkle on the thyme.
- Bake for 1 hour covered with foil, rmove the foil and bake for 30 more minutes. Baste often.

A perfect Thanksgiving side dish!
