6x175g-6oz.Sirloin steaks.
Salt & pepper.
1 heaped tbsp.Flour.
50g-2oz.Soft butter.
2 tbsp.Olive or garlic oil.
175g-6oz.Onion,roughly chopped.
175g-6oz.Carrot.roughly chopped.
175g-6z.Turnop,roughly chopped.
2 Oranges,juice & roughly chopped rind.
150ml-1/4pt.Red wine.
600ml-1/2pt.Bottled Guiness.
1 heaped tbsp.Demerara sugar.
Recipe
Pat dry the steaks.Season generously with salt & pepper.Coat with flour.Heat butter & oil in
a frying pan.Fry steaks to just seal in the juices,lightly browned.Place in a ovenproof dish.Fry the vegetables until brown.Swill out pan with orange juice.Put juices,vegatables,rind,wine & Guiness in with steaks.Sprinkle with sugar.Cook about 1 1/2 hours until slender.
Variations:Replace Guiness with your favourite
beer/ale/lager.
