    Syrup Sponge Pudding

    This is a delicious recipie for winter.
    Loaded with calories so dont make it too often!


    List of Ingredients


    • 6oz self raising flour
    • 6oz butter
    • 6oz brown sugar
    • 3 medium eggs
    • Golden syrup


    Instructions


    1. cream the butter and sugar together
    2. gradually add the flour and beaten eggs a little at a time
    3. pour syrup into the bottom of a heatprof bowl - as much or as little as you like
    4. put sponge mixture on top of syrup and make
      a small 'well' in the centre
    5. cover bowl with greaseproof paper and secure with string
    6. steam over pan of simmering water for approx 1 - 1 1/2 hours
    7. turn onto a plate - take care as the syrup will be very hot
    8. serve with custard

    This is one of my favourite puds. My mum used to make it when I was a little girl - now I make it for my family.
