    Peanut Butter Swirl Bars

    Source of Recipe

    Aunt Saunny

1/2 cup butter or regular margarine
1 1/4 cups packed brown sugar
    2 eggs
    2 tsp vanilla
1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
    2 tsp baking powder
    1/2 tsp salt
1 (6 ounce pkg - 1 cup) semi sweet chocolate chips
    1 cup salted peanuts, chopped

Heat oven to 350 F. Melt butter or margarine in a 3 quart saucepan over low heat. Remove from heat. (Here I transfer the butter or margarine to a mixing bowl. The recipe states to mix everything in a saucepan.) Stir in the brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Add flour, baking powder, and salt. Mix well using a wooden spoon. Stir in morsels and chopped peanuts. Spread mixture in an ungreased 13 x 9 inch baking dish. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until the center is firm to the touch. Do Not Overbake. Cool completely. Cut into bars. Yield: about 32 bars
