    List of Ingredients




    Sift, then measure:
    1 cup All purpose flour
    Resift with:
    1/2 t. Soda
    1 1/2 t. Double acting baking powder
    1 T. Sugar
    1 t. Salt
    Add:
    3/4 cup Yellow water ground corn meal
    Combine and beat:
    1 cup Buttermilk
    2 Eggs
    3 to 4 T. Melted butter or bacon fat.

    Preheat oven to 425 degrees
    Stir the liquid into the dry ingredients with a few swift strokes. You then add: 1/4 cup salt port cracklins (skins)
    Pour the batter into a preheated greased pan and bake the bread for about 1/2 hours
