    List of Ingredients




    Sift together:
    3/4 c. Sifted All-Purpose Flour
    2 1/2 t. Double Acting Baking Powder
    3 - 5 T. Sugar
    3/4 t. Salt
    Add:
    1 1/4 c. yellow or white water
    ground corn meal
    Beat in a separate bowl:
    1 Egg
    Beat into it:
    2-3 T. Melted Butter or drippings
    1 c. Milk

    Preheat skillet as if cookin' pancakes. Test by dropping a tiny bit of water on skillet if beads it's ready.
    Have all ingredients at about 75 degrees. Add butter to skillet when ingredients are mixed and ready. Pour batter into skillet, like cooking pancakes 3" round cakes. Let cook until top of batter is bubbled. You know at this point you can flip the cakes with no problem. Cook on other side until golden brown
