    Butter Buns (Batter Rolls)

    2/3 c warm water
    1 pkg yeast
    2 TBS sugar
    1/2 tsp salt
    1/4 c Crisco butter flavor shortening
    1 egg
    1 2/3 c flour

    In a bowl, dissolve yeast in water. Add sugar, salt, shortening, egg
    and 1 c. flour. Mix well. Add remaining flour and mix until smooth.
    Fill greased muffin tins half full. Allow batter to rise in a warm place
    until doubled. Bake at 375 degrees for 20 minutes. This is a quick
    yeast-bread recipe that produces light, tasty rolls, and especially handy
    when you don't have time to make a conventional yeast roll for dinner.

    Makes 1 dozen
