Oyster Stuffing

4 cups dry bread cubes
3 Tbsp. chopped onion, if desired
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
sage to taste
1/4 tsp. poultry seasoning, if desired
1/2 pint drained, chopped oysters
1/3 cup melted butter
Hot water or stock to moisten
Combine bread, onion, seasonings, and oysters (raw or heated in the butter); add butter and sufficient liquid to moisten. Toss gently to mix. Allow 1 cup stuffing for each pound of poultry.
