    Christmas Jam

    "Nana" to Bubbe & Alex

    2 (20-0z.) pkg. of whole frozen strawberries
    1 lb. of fresh cranberries
    5 lbs. sugar (11 cups)
    2 pouches (3 oz. each) liquid pectin
    14 to 15 half pint jelly jars

    Wash and sterilize jars (boiling water bath for 10-15 minutes).
    Keep the jars in the pot to stay warm until ready to fill.
    Grind the strawberries and cranberries in a food processor.
    Place the berries into a large kettle or stockpot. Add the sugar.
    Bring to a full rolling boil (a boil that can't be stirred down).
    Add the 2 pkgs. of liquid pectin and bring back to a boil and boil
    for 1 minute. Pour into jelly jars.
    You can seal the jars in a boiling water bath for 10-15
    minutes. Or you can do like I do...I put on the lids and seals and
    turn upside down for 5 minutes then turn right side up again...this
    has always sealed the jars for me.
