Souper Chicken "n Rice Casserole

8 chicken breasts or 1 frying chicken
1 C rice, uncooked
½ C butter
1 can cream of chicken soup
1 can cream of mushroom soup
2/3 soup can water
Recipe
Preheat oven to 275º
Melt butter in large saucepan. Mix soups and water into butter. Spread rice on bottom of ungreased 13 X 9 X 2 inch casserole. Sprinkle with onion powder. Pour a little more than half of the soup mixture into the casserole. Mix rice and soup. Lay chicken on top of rice. Dribble rest of soup mixture over chicken. Bake uncovered for 3 hours.
Yield: 6 to 8 servings
