Special sausage casserole

2 lbs. lean bulk sausage (your favorite)
2 medium sweet potatoes, peeled and sliced
4 medium apples, cored and sliced (2 Red delicious, 2 Granny Smith)
Brown sausage meat lightly and stir until it crumbles. In a 9x13x2
inch casserole dish, layer potatoes (1/2 slices if large), apples and
sausage last.
Mix:
1/2 cup water
1 tablespoon flour
2 tablespoons sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
Pour over casserole ingredients. Cover with foil and bake in a 375
degree oven for approximately one hour or until potatoes and apples
are tender. One cup cranberries may be added when in season. Add one
extra tablespoon sugar when cranberries are used. Serves 8-10.
