Spicy Frankfurter Casserole

2-1/4 tsp. unsalted butter
3/4 small onion, chopped
3/4 tsp. chili powder
6 frankfurters
1/4 cup plus 2 Tbs. ketchup
3 Tbs. water
2-1/4 tsp. brown sugar
2-1/4 tsp. cider vinegar
1/2 tsp. salt
Melt butter in a heavy nonstick skillet over medium high heat. Sauté onion 6-7 minutes, or until golden. Stir in chili powder and cook 1 minute. Arrange frankfurters in a single layer in same skillet and turn to coat with onion mixture. Combine remaining ingredients in a bowl and mix thoroughly. Pour over frankfurters. Reduce heat to low, cover and simmer 10 minutes, until frankfurters are plump and hot.
