1. Desserts such as parfaits, cold fruit crisps, and sorbets are beautiful when presented in long-stemmed wine glasses.
2. Use the top or “crown” of a fresh pineapple as a centerpiece for fruit displays, cookie displays, etc. It’s a very impressive but simple table garnish.
3. Serve a tray of sugarplum fruit that has been brushed with a beaten egg white and sprinkled with superfine sugar. This gives a glistening effect. Refrigerate until the moment you serve it, and refrigerate leftovers—if there are any!
4. For a great kids’ treat, cut seedless watermelon slices with cookie cutters such as hearts, hands, and butterflies, and serve on a kids’ platter with garnishes of mint sprigs.
