For your holiday recipes substitute with these lower fat
ingredients - it all adds up!
* 1 cup applesauce instead of 1 cup of butter
* 8 ounces of yogurt cheese instead of 8 ounces of
cream cheese
* 2 teaspoons cornstarch or 1 tablespoon flour whisked
into 1 cup non-fat milk instead of 1 cup heavy cream
* 1 cup lowfat cottage cheese, 2 tablespoons skim milk and
1 tablespoon lemon juice instead of 1 cup sour cream
* 2 egg whites for 1 whole egg
* 1 cup fruit juice or low fat stock instead of 1 cup oil
or fat for basting.
