Polish Sausage with Cabbage and Beer

3/4 head green cabbage, coarsely chopped
1/4 head red cabbage, coarsely chopped
1/2 tsp. caraway seed
3/4 tsp. sugar
1 lb. Polish sausage
1 can beer
water
Combine cabbage, caraway and sugar in a large pot. Top with sausage. Add beer and enough water to cover. Simmer uncovered over medium heat 10-12 minutes until cabbage is tender. Drain and serve.
