Burrito Casserole

1 pound lean ground beef or turkey
1/2 cup chopped onion
1 (8-ounce) can tomato sauce
1/4 cup water
1 tsp chili powder
1 (16-ounce) can dark red kidney beans, drained
1/4 cup taco sauce
1/2 cup shredded cheese
1 cup shredded lettuce
1 small tomato, chopped
1/4 cup sliced pitted ripe olives (optional)
1 chopped green pepper (optional)
Tortilla chips (generic or Doritoes)
Brown meay; add onion. Cook until tender. Stir as needed. Stir in tomato sauce, water and chili powder. Mash half of the kidney beans; add to casserole. Stir in taco sauce and remaining beans; cook until heated through. Serve topped with remaining ingredients to taste.
