DEEP DISH PEAR PIE

5 to 6 fresh pears, pared and sliced
1 unbaked deep dish pie crust
1 cup sugar (white or brown)
1 stick margarine, softened
4 rounded Tbsp all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Boil sliced pears until tender. Drain and place in the unbaked pie crust. Mix sugar and butter well. Add flour, cinnamon, nutmeg and vanilla. Cream and then spread over the pears. Bake at 325 degrees F, for 1 hour or until firm and light golden brown. Makes 1 pie.
