1/4 cup margarine, softened
1 Tablespoon lemon juice
1/2 cup pecan halves
1 Tablespoon flour
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 9-inch unbaked pie crusts
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
6 cups peeled/sliced apples
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
Heat oven to 400 degrees. Spread softened margarine evenly over bottom and sides of a 9-inch pie plate. Press pecans, rounded side down into
margarine. Pat brown sugar evenly over pecans and gently place one pie
crust over sugar.
In a bowl, combine apples with lemon juice, flour, sugar, cinnamon and
nutmeg. Spread evenly over pie crust. Place second pie crust on top and
flute edges. Prick surface with a fork.
Bake at 400 degrees for 50 minutes. Cool 2 minutes and invert onto
serving plate, removing pie plate. Sevres 6 to 8. HINT: place a cookie
sheet under pie during baking to catch any drips or spills.
