    All-American Clam Chowder

    Aunt Saunny

    3 strips bacon
    ½ C onion, chopped
    1 7½-oz can minced clams (reserve juice)
    1 C potatoes, cubed
    1 can cream of celery soup
    1½ C milk
    pepper to taste

    Cook bacon until crisp and break into 1-in. pieces.
    Brown onion in bacon grease. Add potatoes and clam
    juice. Cook over low heat until potatoes are soft
    (about 15 minutes). Add remaining ingredients. Do not
    bring to a boil.
