BROCCOLI CASSEROLE

2 (10-oz.) pkg. frozen, chopped broccoli
1-1/2 sticks butter or margarine, divided
8 oz. Velveeta
1 sleeve Ritz crackers
Cook broccoli according to package directions until almost done. (Take it off heat after it cooks for 8 min. with lid on, rather than continuing to cook for 2-3 min. with lid off as suggested.) Drain well.
Put 1/2 stick of butter in a small saucepan. Add coarsely-chopped cheese and cook over medium-low heat, stirring frequently, until Velveeta has completely melted. Combine broccoli and cheese sauce, stirring well to mix. Pour into a greased casserole dish.
Melt remaining stick of butter. Crush crackers and stir into melted butter. Put topping evenly over broccoli, pressing down gently with the back of a spoon. Bake at 350 degrees for about 25 minutes.
