    Aunt Saunny

    1 cup grits, reg. or "instant"
    1/2 pound grated sharp Cheddar cheese
    8 tablespoons butter
    3 eggs, well beaten
    1/3 cup + 1 Tb milk

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
    Cook grits according to package directions. Regular grits require 25 to 30 minutes of slow cooking; quick-cooking grits will take 3 to 5 minutes. Stir in the cheese, butter, eggs, and milk, and pour into a buttered 3-cup baking dish. Bake 40 minutes or longer, or until set.
    Serves 4.
