Mississippi Cheese Grits

1 1/2 cups grits
6 cups water
1 lb. sharp cheddar cheese, grated
2 eggs, beaten
1 stick butter
1 tsp. salt
1/4 cup of bacon bits
2 dashes Tabasco
Cook grits in water until all water is absorbed and mixture become thick. Stir in grated cheese, butter, salt, and Tabasco. Mix while grits are still hot enough to melt butter and cheese. Add eggs. Place in 8 x 11 pan. Bake at 350 degrees for one hour. About 10 minutes before mixture is finished, sprinkle with bacon bits. Serves 12.
