Okra with tomatoes, ginger, and basil

2 tablespoons vegetable oil
2 cloves garlic, chopped
1 tablespoon peeled, chopped fresh ginger
1 shallot, chopped
1/4 teaspoon dried red-pepper flakes
1 pound small fresh okra, untrimmed
1 1/2 cups yellow grape tomatoes, halved
1/2 cup loosely packed basil leaves
Kosher salt and freshly ground pepper
1. Place oil, garlic, ginger, shallot, and pepper flakes in a heavy
skillet; cook over medium heat, stirring, 1 minute.
2. Add okra; cool, covered, until just tender, about 10 minutes. Add
tomatoes; cook 1 minute. Remove from heat; stir in basil. Season to
taste with salt and pepper.
