New York Style Hot Dog Onions

1 vidalia or spanish onion, sliced thin
water to cover onions
1/2 cup ketchup
1 cup barbecue sauce (I prefer Bullseye)
3 shakes of Worcestershire sauce
dash of crushed red pepper flakes
Slice onions and place in skillet/saucepan.
Cover with water.
Heat on high until onions are soft and most of the water has evaporated. Add remaining ingredients and simmer 5 minutes. Stir occassionally.
