    6 or 7 large sweet potatoes, about 3 pounds
    1/4 cup butter, melted
    1/2 cup dark Karo,corn syrup
    1/2 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
    1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
    dash of allspice---just one good shake or a tiny pinch
    MIiniature Marshmallows

    PREHEAT OVEN to 350

    Cook sweet potatoes in boiling water for 20-30 minutes, THIS MAKES THEM MUCH EASIER TO PEEL AND SLICE.
    Let cool until they can be handled, then peel and cut into 1/2-inch slices. Layer slices in a lightly greased 12x8x2-inch baking dish.
    In a bowl combine butter ,syrup,nutmeg,allspice and sugars;---blend until smooth and glassy-- spoon over sweet potatoes. Cover tightly and bake for 30--45 minutes, or until TENDER. Top with marshmallows and leave uncovered and return to oven until they melt and start to brown.
