Recipe Introduction
The only thing I modified on this recipe was to boil the ribs in Beef broth before marinading and adding hoisin sauce to the marinade.

List of Ingredients
- 7 1/2 pounds short rib, beef
- 1/4 cup Hoisin sauce
- 1/3 cup beef broth (from boiled broth by using beef base)
- 5/8 cup sugar
- 5/8 teaspoon msg
- 2 1/2 tablespoons fresh ginger root, finely minced
- 3 3/4 tablespoons brandy, cognac or
- 1 1/4 tablespoons garlic puree
Instructions
- PLACE SHORT RIBS IN A LARGE SAUCEPAN, OVER A MODERATE FLAME.ADD beef broth TO COVER
- HEAT TO A BOIL, REDUCE HEAT, AND SIMMER FOR 60 MINUTES REMOVE FROM HEAT, COOL
- DRAIN LIQUID, DRY MEAT WITH A TOWEL
- COMBINE REMAINING INGREDIENTS IN A DEEP NARROW BOWL,
ADD RIBS, TURNING TO COAT WELL.
- COVER, AND CHILL FOR 2-24 HOURS.
- REMOVE FROM MARINADE AND GRILL OR BROIL RIBS, 5-INCHES FROM COALS, UNTIL BROWNED AND CRISP
- ARRANGE ONTO A SERVING PLATTER;GARNISH AS DESIRED.
SERVE HOT.
