List of Ingredients
- 1 boneless rump roast
- vegetable oil as needed
- salt
- pepper
- cajun seasoning (optional)
Instructions
- Rub roast with oil and rub in the seasonings.
- Place roast in preheated 500° oven and roast for 10 minutes.
- Reduce heat to 350°, and cook 20 minutes per pound if well marbled; 15 minutes per pound if it's a lean roast. This should result in nice tender rare roast beef.
Slightly increase cooking time for a more well-done roast, but be careful you don't sacrifice tenderness.
- Let stand 10 minutes before slicing very thin.
Final Comments
Italian dressing or a dry rub may be substituted for oil & seasonings.
