    List of Ingredients


    • 5 - 6 cups flour
    • 2 pkgs. active dry yeast
    • 3 - 4 tbsp vital wheat gluten
    • 1 tbsp. sugar
    • 2 tsp. salt
    • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    • 3/4 cup non-fat dry milk
    • 2-1/2 cups water
    • cornmeal for dusting pans
    • 1 egg


    Instructions


    1. Grease two 8-1/2 x 4-1/2 inch loaf pans, and dust with cornmeal.
    2. Combine 4 cups flour, yeast, gluten, sugar, salt, soda & dry milk and stir to mix.
    3. Gradually mix in warm water until well blended, and add remaining flour, 1/2 cup at a time, until fully incorporated and dough is smooth. Dough will be very sticky.
    4. Spread in loaf pans and allow to rise in a warm, draft-free location about 45 minutes.
    5. Bake at 400F for 25 minutes.
    6. Immediately turn out of pans and cool on wire rack.
