Apple "Pie" Cake (like apple crisp)

3 (20 oz) cans apple pie filling
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg
brown sugar to cover filling (took me four handfuls)
1 box butter pecan cake mix
1 to 1½ cups chopped pecans
1 cup (2 sticks) butter or margarine, cut in small chunks
Recipe
Stir together the pie filling and spices. Spoon into a greased 9x13 baking pan.
Sprinkle brown sugar over filling; then sprinkle dry cake mix over too. DO NOT STIR! Sprinkle the pecans over everything, and then dot with the chunks of butter.
Bake at 350° for 45 minutes. Delicious served with ice cream or whipped cream.
Allow to cool a little while before cutting.
