    List of Ingredients


    • 1/2 - 3/4 cup sugar
    • 2 tablespoons flour
    • 1 tablespoon minute tapioca
    • 3 tablespoons red hots (cinnamon imperials)
    • 5-7 cooking apples, pared, cored & sliced
    • 1 unbaked pie shell
    • ----------
    • CRUMB TOPPING:
    • 1/2 cup brown sugar
    • 3/4 cup flour
    • 1/3 cup butter
    • dash of salt


    Instructions


    1. Combine sugar, flour, tapioca and red hots, mix well.
    2. Toss apple slices with sugar mixture and arrange in the pie shell.
    3. Combine crumb topping ingredients, cutting in butter until mixture is like fine meal. Sprinkle over apples.
    4. Bake at 400F for 40-45 minutes or until apples are tender.
    5. Protect crust from over-browning by shielding it with aluminum foil or a regular crust shield.
