    List of Ingredients


    • 6 qts. freshly popped corn (about 1 cup unpopped)
    • 1 cup pecan halves *
    • 1 cup cashews *
    • 1 cup butter or margarine
    • 2 cups firmly packed brown sugar
    • 1 tsp. salt
    • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
    • 1/2 cup light corn syrup
    • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
    • .
    • * substitute any nutmeats of your choice for these


    Instructions


    1. Combine popped corn & nuts in a large roasting pan; set aside.
    2. Melt butter in a large saucepan; stir in sugar, syrup & salt.
    3. Bring to boiling over medium heat, stirring constantly
    4. Boil over medium-low heat for five minutes without stirring (or until candy thermometer registers 250F.
    5. Pour over popcorn & nuts; toss to coat.
    6. Spread onto large rimmed baking sheets and bake for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes, until crispy.
    7. Let cool completely; serve, or store in an airtight container until ready to serve.
