    List of Ingredients


    • 1-1/2 lbs. ground beef
    • 2 cups chopped onion
    • 1 cup sliced carrots
    • 1 cup diced celery
    • 1 tbsp. minced garlic
    • 3 cans chicken broth
    • 1 pint canned tomatoes
    • 2 tbsp. worcestershire sauce
    • 1 tsp. tabasco sauce
    • 1/2 tsp. black pepper
    • ----------
    • 1/4 cup butter or margarine
    • 1/2 cup flour


    Instructions


    1. Brown the ground beef in a large kettle, adding onion, carrots, celery & garlic and cooking until vegetables are almost tender - 10-12 minutes.
    2. Pour off grease if necessary.
    3. Add broth, tomatoes, worcestershire, tabasco and pepper; bring to boiling, reduce heat and cook 15 minutes.
    4. As the soup cooks, melt the butter in a small skillet, add the flour and cook over medium/high heat, stirring constantly, until flour turns a deep brown color.
    5. Whisk it into the soup; simmer 15 minutes longer.
    6. Makes 6 - 8 servings.
