Recipe Introduction
My Aunt Phyllis always used to make this on cool evenings. The scent of it baking takes me right back to when I was 9 years old, visiting her and Grandmother Sadie at thier home on the lake.
List of Ingredients
1/2 Cup Brown Sugar, packed
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1/4 cup margarine
1 Cup sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1 cup sour cream
2 cups all purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp Vanilla extract Recipe
Mix together brown sugar, cinnamon and nuts in a small bowl; set aside.
In a large bowl, blend together margarine, sugar, eggs and sour cream;set aside.
Combine remaining ingredients except vanilla in another bowl. Add flour mixture to margarine mixture; beat until smooth. Add Vanilla;mix well. Pour half of batter into a greased tube pan; sprinkle with 3/4 cup brown sugar mixture. Add remaining batter; top with remaining brown sugar mixture. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes. Let cool before turning out of pan.
